"When Jesus was born, gifts of gold, frankincense & myrrh were given to him. The radition of giving gifts on Jesus' birthday continues today. What special gift do you wish you could give to Jesus this year and why?"
Jesus doesn't want gold, money or a cup of tea. He doesn't want a doll, a scooter or broken promises. All Jesus needs is something from my heart. What could I give to the most divine being in my life?
What I must give can't be touched. I want to be able to give the Lord happiness and joy on his birthday. He always carries me when I am weak. He wakes me up to a new beautiful day. He is always there when I need him, always listening to my prayers and doing what he thinks is best for me in my life. I feel that he has already blessed me in my life. I may not have many material things, and I may not be rich, but what I do have is from his grace and I know he will provide all that I need. The Lord gives so much to me and only asks for me to be true to him. I feel that I can't do enough to repay him for all the work that he does. We are all sinners and I am humbled everyday when I see the things he is doing in my life. I can never feel that I have given him enough. It isn't really just for one day that his birth is very important, but I exist because of him, that is the most powerful feeling in the world and beyond.
I feel strongly that my gift has to be the most important one. One that will show the Lord how much he means to me. The most special thing I could give is my promise to love the Lord above anyone or anything. To read the Bible in order to live my life exactly the way he wants me to, keeping myself committed to his word, and to live a Christian life. I know this is possible. I am sure I will make mistakes because no one is perfect, but I will always be traveling the path that will bring me closer to him.
